About The Department

Considering the many definitions made, the coach in general; He is a good organizer, an effective manager, an educator who provides the athlete with the necessary competencies to be successful as well as his independence. When we look at the coaching education; It is a multidisciplinary field that includes training science, exercise physiology, kinesiology, sports psychology, statistics, technical education, tactical development of sports branches and performance planning. In this department, which covers a specific educational process within universities, it is aimed to enable students, who are the trainers of the future, to follow the performances of athletes both in Turkey and in the world, to have effective athlete training, to conduct scientific research in the field of sports, to specialize in different branches of team sports or individual sports, and to attach importance to ethical rules. and it is an important part that does not aim to see the health and safety of the athlete as a principle.

Students in IESU / School of Physical Education and Sports Coaching Education Department, which provides education in such an important field, also value themselves and value themselves with all the physical and technological opportunities that are the necessity of today, in the light of many different theoretical and applied courses and strong academic staff throughout their education process. Being a respectful individual, he is in an environment that allows him to develop his own coaching philosophy. The curriculum of this department was created within the scope of the Bologna process, and the theory and application parts of all courses are carried out in classrooms suitable for the given course, different sports facilities and laboratories with a very wide technological infrastructure.

In the Department of Coaching Education at the School of Physical Education and Sports, basic and specialist training courses for many individual and team sports are given, and with these trainings, it is aimed that our students become experts in their fields. In addition to these specializations, many courses such as sports massage, sports nutrition, lifelong sports, sports injuries and first aid, summer and winter camps are given in a way that will enable students to take themselves one step further in the field with both practical and theory parts.

Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from this program, students must; All courses, applications, internships and similar studies in the curriculum must be successfully completed with a weighted grade point average of at least (2.00).

Occupational Profile of Graduates
With the developing sports industry and the investments made in this field, the employment area of the coaching profession, which is considered an important profession today, is increasing day by day. In general, our department graduates; As a Trainer or Sports Specialist in all units affiliated to the General Directorate of Youth and Sports (Youth and Sports Provincial Directorates, Education Department, federations, etc.) Our trainers can take place as instructors in sports centers and fitness centers as instructors in Education and Sports Colleges and as a Private Sector.

Transition to Higher Degree Programs
Those who successfully complete the undergraduate program of this department can apply for a master's and/or doctorate in the same department, as well as to graduate programs in some other fields. Candidates who have completed their undergraduate education can study in graduate programs, provided that they get a valid grade from the ALES exam, have sufficient English language knowledge and pass the science exam.
