About The Department

Department of Sports Management; It is a department that aims to train qualified personnel who can serve sports-related institutions, schools and universities in the public and private sector, together with organizations that provide services for the sports industry, recreation and leisure time. With the Industrial Revolution and the advancement of technology, new management models and contemporary management approaches have emerged in Sports Management after the transition to modern sports. By guiding all these new models and contemporary approaches and constantly developing technology to today's sports management, the students are provided with the necessary education to provide the best service to their country and environment, within the framework of up-to-date information compatible with today's sports and management requirements.

With Sports Management education, students learn to dominate the sports culture, to manage and direct sports, to be productive, self-sacrificing and responsible. Thanks to the authority they have gained with the title of Sports Manager after their graduation, they can work in related institutions and organizations that have a sports unit or in private or public units founded on sports, can take part in many different national or international projects as a volunteer or employee, reach the necessary support in the field or branch they are interested in and find new opportunities. projects can be implemented. Thanks to this wide range of options in the field of study, students are constantly improving themselves in line with their fields of interest, both in their education life and in their professional life, serving their country and athletes, and trying to be the best in their field.

The curriculum of the Istanbul Esenyurt University Sports Management Department was created within the scope of the Bologna process, and the theoretical and practical parts of the courses are held both in the classrooms and in the sports halls that the university has contracted.
Within the scope of Istanbul Esenyurt University School of Physical Education and Sports, in addition to the compulsory sports management courses, there are theoretical and practical elective courses in line with the branches and fields they have chosen in order for the students to have various professional qualifications. In addition, students are given practical specialization courses in a branch of their choice. Although the language of the program is Turkish, the lessons are held between 09:00-18:00 on weekdays.

The Department of Sports Management teaches its theoretical courses in its separate classrooms located in the university building. In line with the agreements made with Esenyurt Municipality and private institutions; Esenyurt Municipality Cumhuriyet Sports Hall, Esenyurt Municipality Imam Hatip Sports Hall, Esenyurt Municipality Bağlarçesme Swimming Pool, Esenyurt Municipality Turgut Özal Stadium, Esenyurt Municipality Şehit Caner Sports Hall, Atatürk Sports Hall, Siteler Sports Hall and Pars Athletics Sports Hall, as well as theoretical training for their students. It also offers the best of the current conditions in applied education.

Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from this program, students must; All courses, applications, internships and similar studies in the curriculum must be successfully completed with a weighted grade point average of at least (2.00).

Occupational Profile of Graduates
Students who successfully complete this program; in amateur and professional sports clubs, in the Provincial and District Directorates and various units of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in the enterprises of all kinds of sports facilities affiliated to public and private institutions, in their organizations and practices, in sportsman training centers and private sports courses, in the relevant staff of local administrations. They can work as academicians in related units of fields such as sports marketing, event management, sports media, sports sponsorship, tourism sector, national and international sports federations, foundation and state universities.

Transition to Higher Degree Programs
Those who successfully complete the undergraduate program of this department can apply for a master's and/or doctorate in the same department, as well as to graduate programs in some other fields. Candidates who have completed their undergraduate education can study in graduate programs, provided that they get a valid grade from the ALES exam, have sufficient English language knowledge and pass the science exam.
